If not then I might check it out. Currently I use AVG Anti-Virus Free, good for basic anti-virus without all the bloat of most other programs.

And better than nod 32 alllll the wayyy! And i tested both of them not just saying it like many others. I am with Kaspersky from like 5 years ago, and about 6 months ago i couldn’t find any serial number or crack for the new version. So being in a hurry i installed Nod 32. 6 months of pain with Nod 32. I didn’t remove it then wanting to give it a chance.. a long chance… When i see good software i stick with it and Nod 32 failed to impress me. Kaspersky outruns Nod 32 in all aspects. I wish them good luck!

Qred you’re 50% right… i agree that if you don’t have brains you may have all the AV’s in the world on your computer and still you can be infected by your own stupidity first and curiosity second. But you still need an AV. Think about surfing after cracks and serials. How do you identify an infected crack and a good one?

Anyone using AVG exclusively and running cracks should definitely do a system scan with Bitdefender or Kaspersky, Nod 32, even Counterspy and Webroot spysweeper. I ran AVG for ages and when I finally started using other programs, I found that AVG for the most part will not find a large majority of trojans and certainly misses spyware. Just download the trial versions of these programs, and when the trial expires, make a new email account and download again. I personally don’t keep any antivirus running, I just install and run Bitdefender trial and Counterspy trial once a week, and uninstall right after. AVG used to be good but has not evolved over the last 2 years with the evolution of viruses and spyware, and is now probably the worst antivirus program out there. Just tryin to help.
I have used kaspersky, and it is nice. It seems to make your system a little laggy though, do to the demand for system resources to save your computer from gettong bombarded by hostile viruses etc.

well no antivirus is perfect and imo nod32 atleast gets the job done been using it for about an year and its much lighter then kapersky..

I tried this, and as the first comment said, the serial number is already blacklisted.. so it’s useless… and I went back to NOD32.. :((( .. I hate this AV..
Kaspersky on the other hand.. it’s the best AV (in my opinion, of chourse).. and I’m thinking to buy it.

Just get Zonealarm Pro, find a key, voila free updates for life unless you fuck up bad, then find Nod32 on mininova activate it, bam free updates for life there too, see no point in other programs as long as these work fine, Zonealarm Pro has a decent built in spyware program aswell, but recommend having atleast one extra spyware program just incase, this is just me, i havent had a virus in years, spyware never enter my system, so one less thing to worry about online, also recommend Register Mechanic and CrapCleaner (CCleaner) if you wanna get rid of junk files and invalid Register crap, only advice, take it or fuck it

first i had mcafee total,its good not great,slows your system down alot,and 1again after a couple of months i get a update that fucked my computer up,this has happend before with a legitiem mcafee,so i threw it for once and for all of my laptop.
i had norton,didnt listen to all the people who where saying that its a fcked up ,systemhog,piece of crap.boy what were they right.
You could use the lite free version of Kaspersky (Active Virus Shield) but too bad AOL has just dropped the free Kaspersky, and now offering a free lite version of McAfee anti-virus.

All I’ll have to say, NOD32 all the way.
Have had it for three (3) years now and not had a single virus or trojan. Plus NOD32 is blazing fast scanning and NOT a resource hog like many other anti-virus.
The chooise is very simple!
Its a crap. It corrupted my reg. I had a problem with open one of my hard drives from My Computer.
I never really had a problem with this AV, except it would give me a hassle about some of the game exe’s being detected as a trojan lol…

isaac you don’t have to double click on the .key file. instead first install kaspersky, then go to activation option and there click on install key(just browse to the location you have saved the key),and you’re ready to go.

Best (and less resources)combo for me has been Avira antivir and Comodo.Both are free, work great and dont need much ram like the rest.

How do you block the app from checking they key? If you update your virus defs, doesn’t the application use the key to verify subscription date?

yeah i tryed kaspersky and i must say that it is good. but now i have NOD32 V3 antivirus. You should try it guys, it’s really good, trust me. You don’t need tons of resources and it has a good interface, but when you update it, you don’t really know what the heck is happening.
